Erika (Hawkes) Hendricks, Eventing & Dressage

Erika has been teaching and training for 25 years. She is a graduate pony clubber and has competed in eventing through the intermediate level as well as successfully completed several CCI*s including Radnor Hunt. She has also trained and competed through third level dressage. Her riding has been influenced by the likes of David O’Brien (NC), Suzi Gornall (MA), Jiffy Read (MA), Stephie Baer (MA), Dottie Morkis (MA) and Jan Conlon (MD). Training horses has always been her passion and she has worked with all kinds of horses from ex-racehorses to Canadian Chevals. She has developed young horses of all types to be successful competitors as well as enjoyable companions for their owners. Her training methods involve lots of basics and making sure that both horse and rider understand and are comfortable at any given level or task before moving on. Natural horsemanship techniques play a large role in her training as she firmly believes that a good relationship with your horse starts from the ground up.
Erika works with all levels of horse and rider through the preliminary level in eventing and second level dressage and is available for coaching at all local shows as well as select Area 1 horse trials. Her students compete successfully throughout New England from recognized three-day events to local dressage shows.
